Ok I guess the title is a little misleading but here me out because yes you want to get paid (yes most pro athletes are adults) but what are some other factors that players may want to look into new teams? Well the first one being new opportunities, some players just want to challenge themselves in different ways and, sometimes a change is needed for that. The other being at some point in their career they may want to be closer to home/ play for their hometown team. I feel like this one is self explanatory because if we take the new NWSL expansion team Denver Summit for example, we see they just signed Lindsey Heaps who is a Colorado native who said she would love to play with her hometown team. By the way she did just that. Yes money can still be a factor but if we really think about it is money always a driving factor in our careers or do you live on the edge a little?
