Ok so I saw an article on this and wanted to put my two sense in. Nobody really asked but I don’t care. Being a goalkeeper is hard work but when were talking about the pros there aren’t as many spots for goalkeepers. Now that is probably for a few different reasons. The main one being versatility. Goalkeepers on average aren’t trained as field players. Now there is absolutely nothing wrong with that but when you look at it from a fan stand point are some of the upcoming talents going to get the playing time they want? Well they’re going to have to work for it…. duh but when we look at expansion teams can they get a spot? I’m going to compare this to women’s basketball so bare with me but if you look a lot of the not so known talent have better luck with an expansion team for the most part. I kinda feel about the same with goalkeepers signing with expansion teams. It’s the idea that expansion teams are looking to build and when fresh young players enter it gives them something to build around.
